TIMS Laboratory is an educational, service, and research unit within the Faculty of Sport & Tourism. This 200 square meters facility is located on the second floor on the Faculty’s building and is aligned with the offices of the Department of Sport. The TIMS LAB's highly trained faculty staff, and students use state of the art equipment to provide services that promote healthy and active lifestyles. TIMS LAB services a wide range of clients from the public and private sector, and operates across two main disciplines: physical activity and wellbeing, and performance enhancement. It began operations in spring 2007 as a result of the investment by Faculty of Sport & Tourism. Our vision and continuing aim is to be 'world class' in research, consultancy, training, and wwweducation. The development of research and teaching capability and careers in TIMS LAB is a key consideration. Research capacity is developed through a system of staff mentoring, especially for newer researchers and PhD students. TIMS LAB offers an impressive range of facilities and equipment, which operate at the cutting edge of sports science, while the multi-disciplinary team delivers projects renowned for insight and innovation. These include body composition system, exercise stress ECG kit, gas analysis chamber, ergometers, isodynamic dynamometry, vertical jump assessment system, performance analysis field equipment and psychology lab.
